Both of us come out of hospitality. Ky spent two decades in kitchens and operations, from pastry chef to running large scale catering across defence, healthcare, education and remote sites, including the mobilisation of an $80 million acquisition.Christine's background covers hotel management, defence mess management and event coordination. We also currently run our own hospitality venture across two venues, so we're doing the ordering, the rostering and the compliance paperwork ourselves every week. You won't spend the first month explaining what a docket is or why Friday night matters more than Tuesday.
Most of what we take off you isn't time critical to the minute, it's the pile that accumulates while you're on the floor. Enquiries, orders, invoices and paperwork get handled during business hours so your inbox is clear when you come up for air. For the things that genuinely can't wait, we set up automated responses, confirmations and routing to cover the gap, so a guest emailing at 7pm gets an immediate acknowledgement rather than silence until morning.
No. We work in your voice, from your systems, using your email address. We take the time upfront to learn how you speak to your customers, what you will and won't do on dietaries, your policy on deposits and cancellations, and where the line is that we bring back to you.If we don't know the answer, we say we'll check and we check, same as anyone on your team would.
Almost certainly. We work across Square, Xero, MYOB and the common booking and reservation platforms.Automation is the other half of what we do, so when we're in your systems day to day and we spot two things that should be talking to each other and aren't, or a task we're doing manually that shouldn't be, we'll flag it. You'll get a plain explanation of what could be automated, what it would cost to build and what it would save you. Then it's your call. We won't build anything you haven't asked for, and we won't sit on an obvious improvement just because the manual version keeps our hours up.
We need enough access to do the job and no more, and we work out exactly what that means during onboarding rather than asking for the keys to everything on day one. We carry Professional Indemnity and Cyber insurance, we use password management rather than emailing logins around, and access is revoked cleanly if we ever part ways.
We work on fixed monthly packages rather than ad hoc hours, and there's a reason for that. The value in what we do compounds: we learn your suppliers, your systems and your regulars, and we build the automations that make each month lighter than the last. None of that happens if we parachute in for a stocktake twice a year. What we can do is size the package around your actual pattern. If your quiet months are genuinely quiet, we spend that time building the systems that carry you through your busy ones, so the same hours cover a lot more when function season hits.
Not usually, once you count it properly. A part time admin person costs you superannuation, leave entitlements, insurance, training and a desk, and you pay for the quiet hours as well as the busy ones. You also get one person's skill set. With us you're paying only for time actually worked, and you're getting operations, bookkeeping and automation experience across the two of us. Where a hire does make more sense, we'll tell you.
